According to the Central Statistics Office, prices on average, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, were 1.7% higher in January 2011 compared with January 2010. The most notable changes in the year were increases in Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Other Fuels (+9.6%), Transport (+3.1%) and Communications (+3.0%). There were decreases in Clothing & Footwear (-4.3%), Furnishings, Household Equipment & Routine Household Maintenance (-3.0%) and Education (-3.0%). Read the full report here
